MONACO, Cannes, Grasse & St Paul de Vence
Cannes, Grasse & St Paul de Vence (Full day – lunch on your own) – approx. 8 hours

Discover during this full day exploration the more scenic and artistic locations of the famed French Riviera.
After leaving the pier, your coach joins the motorways to proceed west to the glittering enclave of Cannes, hosting the movie stars during film festivals. A brief stop at elegant La Croisette Avenue, giving you time to admire the famous hotels or the shops of the Rue d'Antibes.
Leaving Cannes you turn inland to Grasse, birthplace of the French perfume industry, for a guided tour of a perfume factory. You'll learn how flowers are boiled and the essence condensed in one of the world oldest distillation processes. During your visit, you will also have an opportunity to shop for a short time in the factory’s outlet.
Then your coach will journey along the Gorges du Loup canyon enroute to Saint Paul de Vence, the meeting place of artists and stars.
Upon arrival, some free time will be given for lunch on your own.
Your exploration of this 16th century walled village begins in the early afternoon. You will discover that the village, typical of the fortified villages guarding the frontier, has retained much of its medieval appearance, its ramparts remaining remarkably intact to this day. There you will have an opportunity to stroll through the narrow, cobblestone lanes exploring the many wonderful boutiques and art galleries before returning to the ship

MONACO, Nice & Eze
Nice & Eze (Morning) – approx. 4 hours

From Monaco, your motor coach will proceed to Nice along the Lower Corniche, passing the famous Riviera resorts of Eze sur Mer, Beaulieu, St Jean Cap Ferrat, and Villefranche. On arrival to Nice you will see the Promenade des Anglais, a splendid palm lined boulevard, the legendary Negresco, an imposing hotel with a rococo façade, the Russian Orthodox Cathedral with its vivid ceramics, pink bricks, and grey marble beneath six onion domes which give an exotic touch to the Nice scene.
You will visit Old Nice, where tall houses, bright with flowers or washing, exclude the glare of sun and keep the streets cool. You will enjoy your walk on Cours Saleya: the promenade of Old Nice where the famous flower market is held. Take photos of the picturesque quarters before re boarding the motor coach.
Departure from Nice is by way of the Middle Corniche with its superb scenic views of Villefranche, Cap Ferrat and Beaulieu before you continue towards the medieval village of Eze, perched on a craggy peak above the Mediterranean. This is a picturesque village seemingly perched on the cliff face. The medieval atmosphere will enchant you as you climb the town’s steep cobblestone streets. You will return directly to the ship.

MONACO, Eze & Cap Ferrat
Eze & Cap Ferrat (Morning) – approx. 4 hours

From Monaco along the Moyenne Corniche, a broad modern road taking large sweeping curves into the delightful Mediterranean countryside, you will arrive at the amazing village of Eze, a prime example of a hill village. It clings like an eagle's nest to a rock spike towering 1401 feet over the sea. On foot you will enter the 14th century double gateway with crenellations. The sentry walk leads into the steep narrow streets, sometimes running beneath the carefully restored houses which are now smart boutiques or artists' studios.
From here, continuing on the road which offers you a contrast of rocky cliffs and the sea, you will join Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, the rugged promontory boasting many palatial villas. Your stop will be to visit the museum "Ile de France ". This superb villa houses a priceless collection that the Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild assembled throughout her life. Inspired by the great Renaissance residences of Venice and Florence and surrounded by seven gardens of different themes, the villa contains an exceptional collection of porcelain, furniture, carpets, tapestries, and canvases displayed throughout the apartments of Madame de Rothschild.
Then you will drive back to Monaco along the Lower Corniche, which runs along the coast at the foot of the mountain slopes.

From the quayside you will take a short coach transfer to the location of your Pleasure Cruiser on which you will be able to combine seeing the world’s favourite animal with one of the most visually spectacular and historic bays in the world - all the makings of an unforgettable cruise.
Few people are aware that Gibraltar is one of the best places in the world to view various cetaceans all year round – the local waters being home to three species of dolphin, the Striped Dolphin, the Bottle-nosed and the Common Dolphin, seven species of whale, flying fish, turtles and sunfish.
Described by BBC’s HOLIDAY programme as ‘the highlight of the Costa del Sol’, Dolphin world also incorporates an entertaining, award-winning live commentary on the world of the dolphin, and the history and landmarks of Gibraltar – a unique Rock Tour by sea on the life and times of this famous British colony.

AJACCIO (Corsica), Calanches de Piana
Calanches de Piana (Full day with lunch) – approx. 8 hrs.

This tour offers a panoramic drive from Ajaccio to the San Bastiano pass, offering superb view of the Gulf of Ajaccio. Then you will follow the coastal route and the gulf of Sagone through little summer resorts before arriving at the ancient Greek Village of Cargese where you will stop to visit the two churches, one Orthodox and one Christian Catholic.
Your tour will then take you to the Calanches de Piana, where you will enjoy an incredible panorama while following the coastline towards Porto. Classed as an UNESCO site, its rose colored granite cliffs plunge into the crystal clear waters.
Porto is renowned for the beauty to its surrounding red cliffs. Time permitting you might also have the opportunity to enjoy some free time, before or after lunch (including 1 drink per passenger: ¼ wine or 1 soft drink or small bottle of water and coffee or tea) in Porto.
Following your lunch, your panoramic drive continues. The scenery changes to allow you to see another aspect of Corsica through the countryside and the mountains, passing uninhabited landscapes and very small villages of granite houses like Evisa and Sagone. A photo stop will be made before passing Evisa.

AJACCIO (Corsica), Prunelli Gorges
Prunelli Gorges (Morning) – approx. 3 ½ hrs.

A few kilometres after leaving the port, the coach already drives you in the mountains. Surrounded by the deep ‘macchia’, typical Corsican vegetation made of smelly plants, colourful flowers, and miscellaneous trees, learn about Corsican history, geography, and traditions.
Down the Prunelli’s river gorges, you will be surprised by the scenery. At the artificial lake of Tolla, built to give Ajaccio water-electricity power, a stop will offer you the opportunity to touch and smell the plants and admire the wonderful landscape.
The mountains around you are at more than 2000 meters of altitude, only 1 hour from the beaches of Gulf of Ajaccio!
On the way back down, drive through small villages made of high granite houses, like Ocana or Bastelicaccia.

LIVORNO, Lucca
Lucca (Afternoon) – approx. 4 ½ hours

After departing the pier by coach with your escort, you will travel to Lucca via the local highway. Lucca is a lively town surrounded by an old fortified wall that has helped it retain a medieval look. Upon arrival you will be met by your Lucca guide who will begin the walking tour along the medieval bastions and will continue as far as the Basilica di San Frediano.
Finally, upon reaching Roman amphitheatre you proceed toward the Cathedral di S. Martino (inside visit), the most important religious monument in the town. The interior of the cathedral contains some wonderful paintings by Tintoretto and Ghirlandaio.
Afterwards you will have some free time to browse around the little town or to sit and taste an ice cream.
Later in the afternoon you will meet the escort and board the coach to drive back to the ship.

CIVITAVECCHIA, Monumental Rome
Monumental Rome (Full day with lunch) – approx. 10 hrs

From the pier at Civitavecchia and driven to Rome (about 2 hours, with a stop at a service station) where you will be met by your local guide.
Rome is the capital of Italy and lies on the river Tevere about 20 km from the sea. This huge city is situated in a beautiful position and abounds in magnificent monuments.
Also known as "Urbe", the city lies at the heart of western civilisation and the Catholic tradition. The history books recount that Rome was founded on April 21st, 754B.C. In the 1st Century B.C. it became the "caput mundi" of the world and in the 1st Century A.C. of Christianism as well.
Rome was made capital of Italy in 1870 and is still home to the Vatican City, a sovereign state in the Italian Republic, independent since 1929.
The panoramic drive proceeds along a classic itinerary: Caracalla Baths, Circus Maximum, Lungoteveri, Colosseum (no stop), Imperial Forum, Piazza Venezia, and Piazza Repubblica to stop close to Trevi Fountain.
From here you will start a guided walking tour to Trevi Fountain, one of the masterpieces of the Baroque Rome, to Piazza Colonna and the Pantheon, the best preserved Roman monument.
Afterwards you will return to the coach to be driven to a typical Italian restaurant before proceeding towards the Vatican City where you will visit the Basilica of St. Peter's, the largest and most famous basilica in the world. Within it lie works of art covering almost two thousand years of history and you will admire the well known Pietà by Michelangelo.
Some free time will be given before driving back to the ship docked in Civitavecchia’s port.

CIVITAVECCHIA, Rome on Your Own
Rome on Your Own (Full day - lunch on your own) – approx. 9 hrs.

This excursion has been planned not only for those who have already visited Rome and want to rediscover the town on their own, but also for those who would like to discover the hidden beauties of an unknown town on their own.
Departure from the pier in Civitavecchia with an escort who will give maps and all the general information necessary to move in a foreign town and to discover such a wonderful city.
Arrival in Rome after about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Upon arrival in Rome the coach will stop at Gianicolo parking place, in the Vatican area, and you will be free to spend your day in Rome.
In the late afternoon you will meet you escort in the same meeting point (Gianicolo parking) and you will be driven back to Civitavecchia.

CIVITAVECCHIA, Ancient Ostia
Ancient Ostia (Morning) – approx. 4 ½ hrs.

You will leave the pier by coach and will be driven to Ostia (about 1 hour drive) where you will be met by your local guide.
Following the tradition, Ostia was founded by the king Anco Marzio at the mouth of the river Tevere, in the same place where the legend says that Enea landed after his long travel from Troia.
Certain is that Ostia was a flourishing commercial town, a military base at defence of Rome. Its inhabitants were traders, ship-owners, craftsmen and workers, most of them coming from abroad all with different languages and religions. Still nowadays we can admire ruins of temples dedicated to local, Oriental, Egyptian gods. Recently a synagogue has been discovered.
In the dark ages Ostia was invaded by the Barbarian tribes and afterwards because of the wind and the river Tevere, the town disappeared under the sands.
Thanks to the archaeological excavations, began during the XIX century, Ostia witnesses today the greatness of the Roman Empire and shows us the organisation of public and private life of an important Roman town.
You will have the possibility to admire the wonderful mosaics at the Neptune Baths, the Theatre, the Temple of Roma and Augusto and the Forum the main monument of the town dating back to the II century A.C.
At the end you will be driven back to Civitavecchia’s port.

LIVORNO, Florence & Pisa
Florence & Pisa (Full day - lunch on your own) – approx. 9 ½ hours

Depart from the pier in Livorno by coach accompanied by a local escort and after approximately a 1½ hour drive, you will reach Florence. Here you will be meeting your local guide.
Your tour begins with a drive to Piazzale Michelangelo, an esplanade overlooking the city. Upon returning to the city center, you will leave the coach along the river Arno to begin your guided walking tour of the historical center, which is now a pedestrian zone.
The city of Florence was founded by the Romans. The city fell in the 15th century to the rule of the Medici family who later became the Grand Dukes of Tuscany. During this period the city achieved new heights of glory in art, culture, politics, and economic power.
Upon arrival in Florence meeting with the guide and beginning of the guided tour to the magnificent complex of the Cathedral of Santa Maria dei Fiore with its impressive dome, the Baptistery (outside), and the Giotto bell tower (outside). Continue with a walk down various streets to the Piazza della Signoria, to see the Gothic Old Palace with its ornate courtyard and artistic treasures. The Loggia dei Lanzi is an open-air museum displaying masterpieces of sculptures! You will also see the Ponte Vecchio, the only bridge in Florence to survive the WWII bombings, and you will arrive at S.Croce Square to admire the wonderful Santa Croce Church (outside), burial place of Michelangelo.
Afterwards have some free time for shopping and sightseeing at leisure before meeting the escort to join the coach and be driven, passing by Piazzale Michelangelo, towards Pisa where you will have some free time to visit the Miracle Square.
In the late afternoon coaches will return back to the ship.

Florence on Your Own (Full day - lunch on your own) – approx. 9 hours

This transfer is designed for those who would like to explore Florence on their own.
It consists of a 1½-hour coach ride during which your local escort will provide information on Florence and how to spend your day in such a beautiful city. On the coach you will receive a map of Florence from the escort, who will also assist with any questions you may have. You will be dropped off near the river Arno and by following your escort you will reach the pedestrian area of Florence city center.
You will have between 5 and 6 hours to explore the city, shop, and eat lunch on your own before returning to the meeting place and taking the coach back to Livorno and the ship.

LIVORNO, Pisa
Pisa (Morning) – approx. 4 hours

Depart Livorno and enjoy the gorgeous Tuscany countryside en route to Pisa. The trip lasts about 40 minutes.
Upon arrival you will be dropped off at the bus terminal and will walk to the Miracle Square to meet your Pisa guide who will lead you on a walking tour of the Campo dei Miracoli, one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Here you will visit the 13th Century Cathedral with its Tuscan-Romanesque façade and its interior, believed to be Muslim-inspired. You will also view the round marble Baptistery, built between 1153 and 1278, and the Leaning Tower where Galileo conducted his gravity experiments. After your visit enjoy some free time for shopping or visit the Campo Santo, a fascinating cemetery of covered galleries containing tombs, sculptures, frescoes, and domed chapels. Meet your escort, walk to the parking place and return to the ship.

MONJACO, Highlights of Monaco & Monte Carlo
Highlights of Monaco & Monte Carlo (Afternoon) – approx. 4 ½ hours

From Monaco pier, your tour begins with a drive for panoramic drive up the Grand Corniche to enjoy views of the Principality of Monaco and its surroundings before arriving at Casino Square.
Take an elevator to discover the most prominent and famous building on this square: The Grand Casino surrounded by immaculate gardens located on a fine terrace with views stretching all the way to Italy.
You will start then a small guided walking tour. At the end some free time will be given to take in the attractions of your choice either a stroll across the street admire the Hotel de Paris, or a little window shopping around the corner or even try your luck at the Cafe de Paris Casino (tables and slot machines – free entrance).
Next you will descend from the casino to the Monaco rock, driving on a small part of the circuit of the Grand Prix to Monte Carlo. Elevators and escalators will take you up to the Old City.
Up the hill, you'll enjoy a guided walking tour passing by Oceanographic museum, the Cathedral containing the tomb of Prince Rainier III & Princess Grace (independent visit without guide in case mass service is taking place) and the Prince's Palace (inside visit) – Then you will enjoy some time at leisure before returning to the ship.

GIBRALTAR, Gibraltar
Gibraltar (Morning) – approx. 1 ½ hrs.

The Rock of Gibraltar nearly 1.400 feet above sea level is reputed to be one of the legendary Pillars of Hercules, with its policemen, pillar boxes and pubs, the Rock is still staunchly British overlooking the entrance to the Mediterranean.
From the quayside we shall initially drive towards the runway of the airfield to reach the British/Spanish Frontier. The tour then proceeds towards the southernmost point of Gibraltar, Europa Point and the sight of the only Trinity Lighthouse outside Great Britain. Here you alight from your transport to take some photographs of the panoramic views of the busiest shipping lane in the world, the mingling of the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean and two continents.
The tour then proceeds to the upper Rock area and to St. Michael’s Cave where one can appreciate a mass of strangely shaped stalagmites and stalactites. The strains of classical music drift through this enormous Gothic style cavern.
The Rock Apes spring to mind at the mention of the Rock of Gibraltar and there is where our next stop will take us. King Charles “V” Wall seems to be a usual habitat of the apes, which are indeed a breed of tailless monkeys, which roam free on the rocky slopes. On continuing the tour we travel via the upper rock area to exit the Nature Reserve passing by the Moorish Castle and the tower of homage that still bears the scars of battle.
Finally we enter the upper town area. We will drive down the narrow winding roads to exit at the Main Street at which point the tour transport will, at your request, either return back to the vessel or drop you off in town to take advantage of the range of shops. Please note if you request to be dropped off in town you are then responsible for making your own way back to vessel.

BARCELONA, Gaudí’s Barcelona
Gaudí’s Barcelona (Afternoon) – approx. 4 ½ hours

Begin by traveling to Sagrada Familia, conceived as a “cathedral of the twentieth century”. It is Gaudí's most famous work, the finest example of his visionary genius and a world-wide symbol of Barcelona.
Continue to Park Güell, another Gaudí masterpiece. This large park contains a structure known as “the hundred columns” which has (actually 86) Doric columns supporting an undulating mosaic roof, decorated with ceramic incrustations.
After visiting Park Güell, you will pass by the colourful Casa Batlló, known for its elaborate decoration and forms derived from nature.

The Park Güell is accessible for wheelchairs, but duly to the important drops and the big size of the park, some areas are difficult to be visited for handicapped people. Nevertheless, the essential areas can be visited.

BARCELONA, Monserrat
Monserrat (Afternoon) – approx. 4 ½ hours

Begin the tour to Montserrat with a scenic ride (approx. 1hr) through an amazing and mysterious countryside of unique rock formations. Nestled high on this sacred mountain between oddly shaped pillars of stone, the breathtaking setting alone is worth the trip.
The visit begins with an introductory film depicting a typical day in a monk’s life.
Montserrat is also noted for its liqueurs and you will have the opportunity to sample them.
In the museum, you’ll see an invaluable collection of religious and secular art and a collection of paintings by modern masters, including Monet, Manet and Picasso.
Next visit the Royal Basilica of Montserrat, which holds the famous 12th century Romanesque carving of Virgen Moreneta, the Black Virgin. The Royal Basilica has been one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Spain for hundreds of years.
Afterwards, you’ll have free time to shop for souvenirs or simply contemplate this beautiful place before departing for your return to the ship.

Take a journey through the outskirts of Ajaccio and into the Countryside.
During this excursion you will visit a family-run nougat factory where you can sample this sweet made in Corsica (typical from south of France).
The tour continues and gives you an insight into the distillery of essential oils and on how local herbs and flowers are transformed into perfumes and oils.
We continue to a local vineyard for a Corsican wine tasting and discover how these wines are produced.

Subject to a minimum of 40 / maximum of 140 participants.
Comfortable flat walking shoes are recommended as this tour includes approx. 2 hour walking and/or standing during the visits and a steep slope to and from the essential oil distillery.
This tour is not suitable to passengers with wheelchairs.
